You were almost 100% dead on, even on the scratches and blood splatters cept on 1 or 2 spots where yours is slightly angled different just placed in a different spot in the case of the blood splatters.
You use max and mudbox I see, Have you used maya and zbrush? is there a major difference that you know of? I don't use zbrush yet but I will this year when i get to it in school, for now I use photoshop to paint in effects like scratches n such into the bumpmap or normal map...and not even very well, hah! Know of good process for using photoshop for stuff like that?
Thanks man! Yeah, there's bound to be a few differences, followed the concept as closely as I could, allowing myself a few differences here and there.
I personally prefer Max and Mudbox. Maya and Zbrush are good alternatives as well. There isn't really one that is better than the other. It all comes down to personal preference.
As for photoshop, I use it for texturing the entire thing. I also use it to create the microdetailing, details that I don't actually sculpt. This is in realtime, so I don't use bumpmaps, since they generally look terrible. A normal map will do this much better. Have you tried using the nVidia normal map filter for photoshop?
